Visit started in the ED but the process of checking in was easy and the care was good while there. Was transported to the main hospital to have stints placed in both kidneys to drain infection
Lou Valente provides a level of care and attention to patients that all PAs and all doctors should aspire to attain. He is thorough and collaborative in his discussions and treatments, and always thinking about ways forward, whether that be working within the mindset of what the patient will actually follow through with or with an insurance situation that might present an obstacle to getting the right care needed as soon as possible. For example, I have two concerning skin growths that should be addressed sooner rather than later. Lou suggested addressing them one at a time at Atriums new Dermatology clinic that focuses on one at a time, rather than getting an appointment to address them both, which would be a 6-8 month wait for such an appointment. Just an example of working with the systems in place and the patient to get my care moving forward in a way that is best for me. I could name other like situations! I'm honestly fortunate to have Lou as my PCP. As I age I will have more complicated needs for care, and I am confident in Lou's knowledge and experience, combined with a bedside manner and genuine personal interest, I know I'm with the right HCP.
