I was scheduled for a new patient/annual physical. Upon the provider coming into my room, she informed me that she would not have time to do my physical. She stated she felt she needed to get to know me and counsel me when she came into the room because my arrival and check-in was quite difficult and upsetting. I scheduled my appointment online through your portal. I completed all questionnaires and documentation online through the portal. I paid my co-pay online through the portal. Not once did anyone tell me that I would not be getting an annual physical on my appointment day. The complete process of that appointment was quite offputting and left a bad taste in my mouth. I was not impressed with atrium health internal medicine in Hickory, NC and how they place blame on the patient for not understanding when the appointment isn't what the patient thought the appoint was going to be. Why use the portal if the staff nor the doctors care anything about what you do within that portal or look at any of the documentation prior to your appointment?
